Windy City Can't Survive Late Surge, Fall to Herd
November 30, 2021 - NBA G League (G League)
Windy City Bulls News Release
The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, couldn't hold on against the Wisconsin Herd, falling 124-116 on Monday, Nov. 29 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Chicago Bulls Two-Way forward Tyler Cook led all scorers with 30 points and 11 rebounds for Windy City.
The Bulls led 86-76 after three quarters, but a 48-point fourth quarter surge by the Herd proved to be too much for the Bulls.
Bryce Alford came off the bench to give the Bulls 20 points, four rebounds and five assists. Devon Dotson and Ethan Thompson - Windy City's starting backcourt - scored 19 and 17 points, respectively. Dotson also grabbed seven boards and dished out nine assists. Chicago Bulls assignment center Marko Simonović knocked down a pair of three-pointers on the way to scoring 18 points.
For the Herd, Two-Way center Sandro Mamukelashvili was one of six players to reach double figures, scoring a team-high 28 points on 11-16 shooting. Milwaukee Bucks assignment forward Jordan Nwora also eclipsed the 20-point plateau, finishing with 22 points. In the fourth quarter alone, Mamukelashvili and Nwora scored 19 and 18 points, respectively.
Wisconsin entered the matchup as one of just two remaining unbeaten teams in the NBA G League - joining the 8-0 Rio Grande Valley Vipers. With the win, the Herd improved to 6-0 on the year, while Windy City moved to 1-7.
The Bulls and the Herd face off again on Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Oshkosh. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on NBAGLeague.com.
