Knicks Pick up Second Straight Victory; Take Care of Nets, 108-101

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, defeated the Long Island Nets by seven points, 108-101, Tuesday night at Webster Bank Arena. The Knicks have now won its last two, both against the intrastate opponent.

The Knicks' (2-4) largest advantage occurred when it went up by as many as 19 with 8:30 left in the third quarter. The game was close to start with Westchester holding a seven-point lead after the first quarter. The Knicks extended that lead to 15 at halftime, before Long Island (2-5) cut the deficit to seven following the third quarter.

The game was close throughout the fourth, with each team trading baskets to the end. The Nets took its final lead of the game with 1:37 remaining, before Westchester held on in the final minute with a momentum reviving three-point heave by Tyler Hall 61 ticks on the clock, extending its lead for good.

The Knicks put the finishing touches on their second straight victory at home with Luka Samanic (Two-Way), Kethan Savage (tryout), and Brandon Goodwin (affiliate) each converting two single-valued free-throws in the final 40 seconds of the game.

Samanic led the way once again with his second straight double-double with team-highs of 29 points and 14 rebounds, while shooting an efficient 50-percent from the field. VJ King (returning rights) had his best outing of the season with 20 points on 70-percent shooting, to go along with six rebounds. Also having his best performance thus far, Savage had 18 points and five rebounds. Aamir Simms (affiliate) chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds, hitting 6-of-8 field goal attempts. In his Knicks debut, Brandon Goodwin (affiliate) had a balanced 11 points, seven rebounds, and a team-high nine assists on the night.

Long Island was led by a balanced scoring attack, with four players scoring in double figures. RaiQuan Gray scored a team high 21 points and 11 rebounds and Brandon Rachal and Bryce Brown contributed 20 points apiece. Craig Randall II chipped in 16 points.

As a team, Westchester shot a season-high 49.4-percent from distance (40-for-81) and 32.3% (10-for-31) from three. The Knicks once again found success inside by scoring 54 points in the paint, to go along with 22 fast break points.

The Knicks will get a few days before welcoming the Maine Celtics to Webster Bank Arena on Saturday, November 27 at 7 PM ET.
