
KK and M-Braves Walk Off With Win

West Tenn jumped out to a four-run lead on a grand slam in the top of the first. The M-Braves didn't quit though as they rallied to tie the score twice. Kala Ka'aihue ended the game with the first swing of the bottom of the ninth inning.
West Tenn jumped on the Braves in the top of the first inning when Marshall Hubbard hit his 12th homer of the year. Hubbard's homer was the first grand slam against the M-Braves since June of this season. After one-half inning, the D-Jaxx led 4-0.
The M-Braves got on the board in the fourth when Willie Cabrera doubled and scored on a single by Van Pope. They tied the score with three runs in the sixth. Jordan Schafer led off with a double and Cabrera followed with a walk. Greg Creek then hit his seventh triple of the season plating both Schafer and Cabrera. Pope then hit a sac-fly to center scoring Creek to tie the score.
West Tenn went back on top when Greg Halman singled and later scored on a wild pitch in the seventh. Matt Young led off the seventh with a triple and he scored on a double by Kala Ka'aihue to knot the score at five.
Kala Ka'aihue's first swing in the bottom of the ninth resulted in his 14th home run of the year and a 6-5 win for Mississippi.
Todd Redmond gave up four runs on four hits through six innings, but did not factor into the decision. Carlos Sencion came on and gave up a run in two innings. Luis Valdez improved to 4-3 on the year after tossing one scoreless inning.
Gaby Hernandez gave up a run through 4.2 innings, but didn't factor into the decision. Ryan Ketchner gave up three runs in 1.1 innings and Aaron Cotter allowed a run in two-thirds of an inning. Ramon Martinez suffered the loss after giving up Ka'aihue's home run in the ninth.
Mississippi and West Tenn will play game four in this five-game series Sunday night at Trustmark Park at 7:05 ct. The Braves will send righty Tommy Hanson to the hill in search of his eighth win while the D-Jaxx will go with righty Luis Munoz who's after win number two.
Sunday, August 31st will be the Braves second FamilyFest of the homestand. A family of four can get four dugout level seats, four hot dogs or hamburgers, four 16 oz. soft drinks, four bags of peanuts or cracker jacks, four M-Braves baseball caps, two game programs, and free fun zone wristbands for children, for only $52.
