Mississippi wins over West Tenn

(Pearl, MS) Kala Ka'aihue hit a one out, walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Mississippi Braves a come from behind 6-5 win over the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx in the middle game of the five game series from TrustMark Park.

Ka'aihue, who tied the game at five with a run scoring double in the seventh inning, slugged the game winning shot off losing pitcher Roman Martinez (2-2). He finished the night 2-5 with two RBI's. Van Pope and Greg Creek drove in two runs each as the Braves moved their record to 42-26 in the second half of the Southern League season. Luis Valdez (4-3) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the win.

Marshall Hubbard hit a first inning grand slam home run off starting pitcher Todd Redmond to highlight the Diamond Jaxx offense. Adam Moore chipped in with two hits as the Diamond Jaxx record falls to 29-38 in the second half of the season.

Game four of the five game series takes place on Sunday night at 7:05 CDT. Right-hander Luis Munoz (1-1 4.81) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Righty Tommy Hanson (7-4 3.19) will start for Mississippi.
