
Gustav Threat Forces Cancellations for Barons

Birmingham Barons News Release
Please be advised that the final two games of the Birmingham Barons' regular season, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 31 and Monday, Sept. 1 in Mobile, have been canceled due to the threat of severe weather resulting from Hurricane Gustav.
The Barons and BayBears will play Saturday's game (7:05 pm first pitch) as scheduled. Upon its conclusion, the Barons will immediately return to Birmingham.
After Saturday's contest, Birmingham will not play again until it hosts Mississippi in the first game of the Southern League's divisional series round of playoffs, slated to begin at 7:05 pm on Thursday, Sept. 4.
