Kingsley Gets The Call To LA

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, announced today that Chris Kingsley has joined the Kings as the Head Athletic Trainer. The Monarchs have hired Michael Muir as Manchester's Head Athletic Trainer/Strength and Conditioning Coach and Amy Biondello as an Account Executive.

Kingsley, 38, has been with the Kings organization for eight years, five with the Monarchs and three with the Lowell Lock Monsters. Prior to arriving in the AHL, Kingsley worked seven years at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, as the school's Director of Sports Medicine.

Kingsley graduated from North Adams State College in 1990, earning a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Biology with a concentration in Sports Medicine. He also attended Indiana State University, where he earned a Master's of Science degree in Athletic Training in 1995.

"Kingsley has been with the Kings organization for eight years and it is a well-deserved opportunity for him," said Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough. "I am pleased to see him achieve his dream of making it to the NHL.

Muir is a graduate of Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, and Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He joins the Monarchs after serving as the Trainer, Strength Coach and Equipment Manager for the Tri City Storm of the United States Hockey League. Muir is certified with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association, National Athletic Trainers Association and National Strength and Conditioning Association. He brings with him 19 years of experience in the athletic training field, 13 of which are in hockey.

Biondello is a California native relocating to Manchester from Glastonbury, Connecticut. A recent graduate from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Marketing, Biondello was a member of the Springfield Falcons' game day staff during the 2005-06 season. Biondello spent part of 2004-2005 season with the Hartford Wolf Pack as an Intern/Supervisor of Game Day Media Operations; and part of the season with the Danbury Trashers of the United Hockey League as part of their game day staff.

The Monarchs open their sixth AHL season at home against the Worcester Sharks on Saturday, October 7 at 7:35 p.m. Individual tickets for the Monarchs 2006-07 season go on sale Thursday, September 21.
