Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms Assistant General Manager Paul Holmgren today announced the signings of defensemen Don Morrison and Matt Davis. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not released.

Morrison comes to Philadelphia after four years at Bowling Green State University (CCHA). He amassed 57 points in 143 career games with the Falcons, including a career-high 22:(6-16-22) during his senior year. The 5-10, 193 pound native of Calgary, Alberta was a college teammate of Flyers 2006 NHL Entry Draft selection Jonathan Matsumoto (3rd round, 79th overall).

Davis joins the Phantoms as a defenseman but figures to offer the club some versatility. The graduate of Miami University (CCHA) played on the blue line there for 2 ½ seasons before switching to forward halfway through his junior year. As a senior centerman, Davis scored 17 goals and added eight assists for 25 points in 37 games, while also registering a plus-18 rating: 37(17/8/25)+18. He was named Miami's most improved player, and also won the Outstanding Senior Award and the Scholar-Athlete Award. Additionally, Davis was a finalist for the CCHA Best Defensive Forward award.

Both Davis and Morrison are currently participating in the Flyers weeklong rookie conditioning camp in Voorhees, NJ.

Individual-game tickets for the 2006-07 Phantoms season, including $8 children's tickets, are available now at phantomshockey.com, in person at the Wachovia Center Box Office or by calling 800-298-4200.

The Purple kick off their 2006-07 regular season on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:05 PM, against the Norfolk Admirals at the Wachovia Center. The Phantoms offer a host of new flexible and affordable ticket plans, including a "Hockey Lover's Package" with both Flyers and Phantoms tickets. For information call 215-465-4522.
