Kings win with monumental comeback
June 6, 2009 - Frontier League (FL)
Kalamazoo Kings News Release
In one of the wildest baseball games of all-time the Kalamazoo Kings topped the Southern Illinois Miners 13-11 Saturday night. The Kings were cruising 5-1 heading into the top of the ninth when the Miners' bats awoke and plated 10 runs to storm ahead 11-5. With a downtrodden dugout, the Kings dug down and put together a rally that included a 3 run HR by Tim Brown to tie the game at 11-11. After a Destan Makonnen walk, catcher Jett Ruiz hit a walk off 2-run HR to cap a fifty four minute ninth inning which saw 5 pitchers used combined by both teams and an unbelievable 18 runs.
