EL SEGUNDO, CA. - The Los Angeles Kings have recalled defenseman Jason Holland (emergency recall) from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Holland, 26, has played in 60 games with the Monarchs this season, recording 25 points (3-22=25) and 45 penalty minutes. He has been on the Kings roster this season but has not appeared in a game. In 27 career NHL games with the Kings, New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres, the 6-3, 210-pound native of Morinville, Alberta, has two points (1-1=2) and 12 penalty minutes. He was signed by the Kings as a free agent on August 23, 2001.
The Kings complete a three-game road trip tonight in Carolina against the Hurricanes at 4 p.m. (PT). The game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 710-KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network. In addition, the game will be televised as part of the NHL's Center Ice program.
