Kings bullpen costs them
July 1, 2008 - Frontier League (FL)
Kalamazoo Kings News Release
The Kalamazoo bullpen blew a strong outing by Joe DiPietro and lost 8-5 in 10 innings Tuesday Night. Joe DiPietro threw 6 2/3 innings, only allowing five hits and two runs. After Jon Troop picked up the final out in the seventh, Dan Baerlocher and Joe Catanese proceeded to give up six runs in the final three innings. The momentum from a 2-run Joe Ramos HR in the bottom of the ninth couldn't propel the Kings to a victory. Traverse City picked up three runs in the top of the tenth to put away the Kings. In addition to Ramos' homerun, the Kings also got homeruns from Brandon Anderson and Mike Russell.
