
Kingfish Top Rivets 4-3 in Last At-Bat

Kenosha, Wis. - The Kingfish (15-19) trailed the Rockford Rivets 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th, but scored 2 runs to take the win by a final score of 4-3.
Sawyer Gieseke notched his first hit as a Kingfish to lead off the 9th, and Marty Bechina sacrificed him over to second. Cal Jadacki then singled to left field, and Blake Reese was able to chop a single into right field to tie the game 3-3.
Nick Kanavas hit a grounder to the shortstop Jordan Hovey, but the throw was dropped by first baseman Ricardo Ramirez. With the error, Cal Jadacki crossed the plate to score the game-winning run.
Ryan Orr (2-1) took the winning decision after pitching the final 1.1 innings, and Joe Romero (1-1) suffered his first loss. Cole Erickson was the starting pitcher for the Kingfish and was dominant for his second consecutive outing. He pitched 7 innings, surrendered 4 hits, 1 earned run, and struck out 3.
Cal Jadacki led the Kingfish offense with a 3 for 4 night and had 2 RBIs as well. Micah Coffey went 2 for 3, and Blake Reese's game tying RBI capped off a 1 for 5 day at the plate for him.
The Kingfish will face the Bullfrogs tomorrow in Green Bay at 3:05 CT. They will conclude a 4 game road trip in Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday night before hosting Kalamazoo on Friday.
The Kingfish will host the Rockford Rivets in the season series finale tomorrow night at 5:05 CT. Then, the Kingfish will have a four game road trip in Green Bay and Wisconsin Rapids beginning Monday night.
