Kingfish fall to Pilots in OT, 2-1

The Baton Rouge Kingfish picked up a point in the standings despite losing to the Pensacola Ice Pilots 2-1 in overtime.

Kevin Cloutier lifted a backhand shot over Jeff Blair at the 3:07 mark of the overtime period to give the Ice Pilots the 2-1 win. Matt Elich and Josh Harrold added the assists.

Jesse Ferguson sent the contest to overtime as he fired a shot from the slot past Maxime Gingras to tie the game at 1-1 with a little over twelve minutes left to play in the third period. Steve Cheredaryk fed Ferguson at the point off a pass from Trevor Wasyluk.

Pensacola opened the scoring late in the second period as David Oliver deflected a Ryan O'Keefe shot past Blair at the 16:24 mark of the period. Mike Vigilante added an assist on the power play goal.

Jeff Blair made multiple point-blank saves to keep the Ice Pilots off the board for much of the contest. He made 31 saves in the losing effort and falls to 1-3-1 on the season.
