Former Express All-Star Fiddler Called Up To Nashville

Vern Fiddler, who was selected to the 2002 East Coast Hockey League All-Star game as a rookie, was called up to Nashville of the National Hockey League on Thursday. The 22-year-old Fiddler has a chance to make his NHL debut when the Predators play at Los Angeles on Saturday. If he plays Fiddler would become the 197th former ECHL player to play in the NHL. Fiddler scored 55 points (27g-28a) in 44 games with Roanoke in 2001-02 before being called up to Norfolk of the American Hockey League where he finished the season, scoring 13 points (8g-5a) in 38 games. He opened the 2002-03 season with Milwaukee of the AHL scoring six points (0g-6a) in six games. He began his ECHL career in 2001-02 with Arkansas recording an assist in three regular season games and scoring four points (1g-3a) in four postseason games.
