Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release


HIDALGO, TEXAS --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that forward Rob Voltera has been waived.

Voltera, 30, appeared in 15 games for RGV this season and collected 11 points (4-7-11) while adding 25 PIM. He played in 127 regular season games as a Killer Bee since 2006 and registered 121 points (53-68-121). He departs as the franchise's second all-time leader in goals and third in points.

"This is the right move for our hockey team at this point," Killer Bees Head Coach Chris Brooks said. "Everyone in the organization appreciates Rob's efforts over his tenure here and we wish him well."

The Killer Bees begin a three-in-three stretch this Thursday night at Corpus Christi. Watch the game with other Killer Bees fans at Jackson's All American Sports Grill in McAllen beginning at 7 p.m.
