Killer Bees Open Season With Victory

HIDALGO, Texas- The Killer Bees battled back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Laredo Bucks 4-2 on Friday night at State Farm Arena. The Bees were paced by four different goal scorers and multi-point games from Tomas Klema (three assists) and Tyler Burton (goal and assist).

Aaron Lee started things for the Bees scoring the first goal of the season at the 6:06 mark of the second period. Lee shot a wicked backhand that beat Pier Pelletier blocker side. Picking up assists were Tomas Klema and Tyler Burton, each their first points as Bees.

The Bucks tied the game just over a minute later when Chris Korchinski ripped a hard one-timer past Julaino Pagliero. Veterans Jeff Bes and Serge Dube added assists.

The Bucks scored their first lead of the game just 1:33 into the third period as Serge Dube tallied the goal with assists to Jeff Bes and Neil Trimm.

The Bees would score the next three goals unanswered to earn the victory. Sean Muncy started the rally with a rebound goal off a Tomas Klempa shot. Darcy Campbell with the assist.

Rob Cown gave the Bees the lead less than a minute later when he ripped a mean wrister past Pelletier thanks to a great pass from Tomas Klempa. The two were also coming down with Brett Wilson who fed the puck to Klempa.

Tyler Burton finished the game with a empty net goal to seal the victory for the Bees. Juliano Pagliero played well for the Bees in his debut making 29 saves on thirty one shots.
