TONIGHT'S GAME

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (11-9-3, 23 pts) enter the weekend series vs. Corpus Christi (8-11-4, 20 pts) holding the No. 5 spot in the CHL's Southern Conference. RGV is coming off a 6-3 win over Corpus Christi last Friday that snapped a five-game (0-4-1). RGV is four points behind fourth-place Texas and five behind third-place Laredo. Corpus enters tonight's game winless in six outings (0-3-2) after being edged 2-1 in a shootout vs. Missouri last Saturday and falling 2-0 to Laredo last night. The IceRays are in sixth place in the South, trailing RGV by five points.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

. CLOSE TO A MILLION --- The franchise's millionth fan will pass through the turnstiles on Jan. 9. The lucky fan will get a prize pack worth over $6,000.

. COMING UP --- The Killer Bees travel to Amarillo for games on Dec. 26 and 27 and then return home on Dec. 29 to face Tulsa. From there, the team heads to Arizona for games on Dec. 31 and Jan. 2 and then plays Corpus Christi on the road on Jan. 8 before returning home for three straight.

. ALL STAR GAME IN LAREDO --- The Killer Bees, Laredo Bucks and Corpus Christi IceRays team up to face the rest of the CHL on Jan. 13 at Laredo in the 2010 CHL All Star Game.

. BENNEFIELD 12-GAME SCORING STREAK SNAPPED --- Jesse Bennefield had points in 12 straight games (11-7-18) until last Friday, tying his own franchise record. He has goals in five of his last seven.

. GOECKNER-ZOELLER HAS POINTS IN 10 OF 11 --- Grant Goeckner-Zoeller has points in 10 of 11 games (6-9-15).

. BEES AMONG CHL LEADERS (as of 12/18/09) --- Grant Goeckner-Zoeller (T9 points, T4 goals, T3 PPG).Jesse Bennefield (8th points, 1st goals, T2 PPG, T3 shots).
