
Kickham to Jacksonville; Cavanerio to Jupiter

PEARL, Miss. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to tonight game against the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park at 8 p.m. eastern.
Right-handed relief pitcher Jorgan Cavanerio has been transferred from Jacksonville to High-A Jupiter. Cavanerio pitched in 13 games for the Jumbo Shrimp in relief, going 0-1 with a 4.97 ERA.
In a corresponding move, left-handed pitcher Mike Kickham has been transferred from Triple-A New Orleans to Jacksonville. Kickham started the season on the New Orleans disabled list, and made one appearance with three scoreless innings of relief work on Monday, where he only allowed a hit and struck out three batters.
Kickham was a 2017 Southern League Midseason All-Star with Jacksonville, going 5-7 with a 3.33 ERA in 18 games and 17 games started. He was also honored as a Southern League Pitcher of the Week for May 22-28 after a dominant start on May 27, 2017 where he tied a career high with 12 strikeouts against the Jackson Generals.
The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 25 active players, and a revised roster is attached.
The Jumbo Shrimp and Braves will begin their series with the first game of the five-game set on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. eastern. Right-handed pitcher Nick Neidert (4-3, 3.25 ERA) will Jacksonville against Mississippi right-handed starter Kyle Wright (2-4, 4.53 ERA). Fans can listen to the game on the Jumbo Shrimp Network presented by Community First, beginning at 7:45 p.m. with the pregame show "Shrimp On Deck" locally on Sunny 102.3 FM, on the TuneIn Radio app, and www.jaxshrimp.com.
The Jumbo Shrimp return to the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville Tuesday, May 29, for the opener of a five-game series with Pensacola. Gates open at 6 p.m. for Community First Credit Union Two-for-Tuesday, when tickets are 2-for-1 at the box office for Community First members using a CFCU credit or debit card, and fans can learn about the Jumbo Shrimp VISA® Debit Card on the concourse.
