Frederick Keys News Release

For a second straight night the Frederick Keys took it on the chin, as Myrtle Beach peppered the Keys to the tune of 11-1, the most lopsided loss of the year for Frederick. With the win the Pelicans gave themselves a chance to clinch the South in the first half Friday night.

Myrtle Beach took the lead in the game's opening inning. With runners at the corners and one down, Keys starter Bobby Bundy's errant pick-off throw got past 1B Tyler Kolodny. As one run came home Kolodny attempted to throw out the base runner headed for third base. But his throw bounced out of play allowing a second run to score on the play.

The Pelicans lead soared to 4-0 with two-men out in the third inning. Myrtle Beach RF Jared Prince was hit by a pitch. The next batter LF Ryan Stausborger hit a two-run home run to left field on a 3-2 pitch and the lead was 4-0.

The Keys registered eight hits on the night but all were singles. Both RF Steve Bumbry and C Brian Ward had multi-hit games.

Friday night the Keys look to turn it around as LHP Nathan Moreau looks for his team leading eighth win. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. on 1450-AM The Source.

The Keys return after the all-star break, Thursday June 23rd for a six game homestand. Fireworks will follow all three weekend games. For tickets contact The Keys Box Office at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or purchase online at frederickkeys.com.
