Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release

RHP Bobby Bundy (6-4, 2.81) at RHP Wilfredo Boscan (4-3, 2.50)

SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE: The Frederick Keys clinched the Northern Division with a win at Winston-Salem on Monday and now they can impact the Southern Division race as well with four games in Myrtle Beach. This final series pits the team with the league's best home record (MB, 20-9) against the one with the best road mark (FRE, 19-9). This weekend the Birds need any combination of three wins or Kinston losses, the Indians are in Lynchburg for four games to end the first half starting tonight.

ACE OF BASE: With a hit in yesterday's road trip finale, Ryan Strausborger extended his hitting streak to 15 consecutive games. That gives him the longest run in the Carolina League this season, Ian Gac of Winston-Salem and Salem's Peter Hissey both had 14-game stretches in April. The All-Star also extended his on-base streak to 27 games. That run began May 19 in Winston-Salem and is the longest streak in the circuit this season, surpassing the 25-gamer run up by Tyler Holt of Kinston in May. During his hitting streak, which began on June 1 in Frederick, the former Indiana State Sycamore is batting .348 (23-66).
