Mud Hen infielder Kevin Witt was named as the Detroit Minor League Player of the Month for April.
Witt batted .359 (28-78) with six doubles, eight home runs and 19 RBI for the month. He led the International League with eight home runs and a .744 slugging percentage during April. He also tied for the league lead with 14 extra-base hits. Witt finished the month with nine multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games during April.
The 27-year-old is in his 10th professional season and first with Toledo. Witt has knocked in 681 runs during his career to go along with 199 career home runs.
