
Kevin Nolan Singles Fisher Cats to 2-1 Win

TRENTON, NJ - Kevin Nolan delivered an RBI single in the top of the ninth inning to break a tie and New Hampshire held on for a 2-1 win over Trenton on Wednesday night at Arm & Hammer Park.
Clint Robinson, who had walked, advanced to second on a single by Brad Glenn. Nolan then singled to left as Robinson scored the tie-breaking run, beating the throw to the plate.
Evan Crawford (1-0), who worked two scoreless innings, earned his first win and Joel Carreno worked a perfect ninth with a strikeout for his second save.
The Fisher Cats (12-15) opened the scoring in top of the third inning. Adam Loewen walked, moved to second when Sean Ochinko was hit-by-pitch. Kevin Pillar singled to make it 1-0.
Trenton (14-12) drew even in the bottom of the seventh inning. Slade Heatcott walked, advanced to second on a single by Neil Medchill, to third on a wild pitch, and scored when Ali Castillo reached on an error.
Marcus Walden, New Hampshire's starter, had another quality start. He worked into the seventh inning, allowing one run on five hits. He walked two and struck out three.
Jose Ramirez, making his first Double-A start, allowed one run on one hit in five strong innings with six strikeouts for Trenton.
The series and roadtrip concludes on Thursday morning at 10:35am. The Fisher Cats will start RHP Deck McGuire (1-2, 5.88) against Trenton LHP Nik Turley (2-1, 5.79). Coverage with Bob Lipman and Chris Shuker begins at 10:15am on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and online at www.nhfishercats.com.
