Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed veteran free agent quarterback Kerry Joseph.
Joseph returns to Edmonton where he spent the final two weeks of the 2010 season on the Esks practice roster. In 2007, Joseph was named the CFL ¬â¢s Most Outstanding Player after leading Saskatchewan to it ¬â¢s third Grey Cup win. He was also named a CFL and CFL West Division All-Star in ¬â¢07.
Eskimo General Manager Eric Tillman says ¬Å Kavis Reed, Marcus Crandell and I have great respect for Kerry and feel he ¬â¢ll make us stronger. Not only does Kerry provide us with the valuable insurance of having a former CFL MOP, but also his veteran presence will be valuable in our locker room, especially as a mentor for our young quarterbacks. We're hoping to keep two veteran quarterbacks and a rookie on our 42 man roster with another rookie on our practice squad."
Joseph has also played for Ottawa (2003 ¬" ¬Ë05), Saskatchewan (2006- ¬â¢07) and Toronto (2008- ¬â¢09) during his 8 CFL seasons.
