
Esks Sign Kick Returner Beavers

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed free agent wide receiver and kick returner Larry Beavers.
Beavers comes to the Eskimos as a free agent after previously spending time in the NFL and the AFL. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers for a short stint; he then spent time in the AFL with the Iowa Barnstormers, and two years back in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints.
The Maryland native played his college football for Wesley College and is a true speed demon. He ran an impressive 4.28, 40 yard dash and holds multiple college records. Larry holds the NCAA All-Division record for kick return touchdowns with 10 and totalled 41 collegiate touchdowns with 5,373 all-purpose yards during his college career. He was named a Division-III All-American as a senior at Annapolis High School in Maryland were he averaged 39.5 yards on kick-off returns and 29 yards on punt returns.
