Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
The Canadian Football Players Association together with Dimension One Spas (D1 Spas) held the first ever "Fan Only" Vote for the CFLPA Pro Player of the Year during last weeks Grey Cup Festivities in Toronto.
"Thousands of CFL fans from all over Canada and several from the United States voted by ballot for their favorite player", says Mike Morreale, VP of Marketing for the CFLPA. "D1 Spas donated an Amore Bay spa to the player who received the most fan votes, and one lucky fan won 2 tickets to the Grey Cup game!"
The lucky player turned out to be none other than Kerry Joseph, quarterback of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders and the 2007 CFL League MVP. Here is Kerry and his mom along with some Rider Faithful and their team Mascot moments after he received the Amore Bay!
"With a Canadian MSRP of $24,000, Kerry was completely blown away by the Amore Bay and was most thankful to both the fans who voted him as their MVP and D1 Spas who supplied the tub!" says Stu Laird, President of the CFLPA.
"We are very proud to be associated with the CFLPA as the official spa and hot tub supplier and were very keen to donate an Amore Bay when Stu and Mike came up with the idea to have their fans vote for their CFLPA MVP" says Jeff Knight, Director of Sales for D1 Spas. "In 2008 we are going to participate with the CFLPA to an even greater extent where both a fan and a player will win a spa from D1! This will take place during the 2008 CFL season with a Canada wide contest to choose the CFLPA Pro Player of the Year and Ultimate fan of the year.
Morreale says, "Kerry had a tremendous season and we were so happy that all the fans who voted felt the same way. On behalf of all our members in the CFLPA and D1 Spas we congratulate him on all his success."
