Kennewick, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips lost to the Tri-City Americans 5-3 on Saturday night in the seventh of eight regular season meetings between the two. The Silvertips dressed only 19 total players out of the possible limit of 20. Everett's record overall is now 53-13-1-2 (109 pts) and 23-10-1-1 on the road. However, they still lead the regular season series over Tri-City 4-2-0-1.

Following the surrendering of an early Taylor Procyshen goal, the Silvertips responded with some solid play of their own. First up was a power play goal at the 6:15 mark to even the game back up. On the advantage, Dane Crowley controlled the puck at the point before sending it down low to Brandon Campos. From there, Campos made a sharp pass across the crease to Lukas Vartovnik who spiked the puck past Americans goaltender Carey Price. For Vartovnik it was his third consecutive game with a goal.

Just moments later the momentum shifted, but only briefly. Everett found themselves faced with the task of having to kill off a double-minor penalty and were successful in doing so. They would then be rewarded for those efforts when another power play resulted in another goal. At 15:05, Jesse Zetariuk advanced the puck down low to Vartovnik from the perimeter. That's where Vartovnik tapped the puck to teammate Shane Harper who then proceeded to put the puck into the net to give the Silvertips their second goal on just their second shot of the game.

In the second period the Silvertips saw two of the Americans shots make their way by goalie David Reekie. The goals by Joel Broda and Roman Teslyuk put Tri-City into the lead 3-2 heading into the final 20-minutes. Everett though would fight back in the opening stages of that final period.

Following more than a minute-and-a-half of unsuccessful carry over power play time, Dan Gendur tied the score just 3:32 in. Jonathan Harty had made an initial outlet pass to Zach Hamill who controlled the puck up-ice on the rush. Upon entering the attacking zone he proceeded to initiate a pass that deflected off of an Americans defenseman's skate. The deflection put the rubber right onto the blade of Gendur's stick who then finished off the play. However, it was a mere 59 seconds later that Tanner Gillies would put Tri-City back on top. Just past the halfway point of the period Kruise Reddick would solidify his team's 5-3 victory with a goal of his own.

The Silvertips return home for their next game on Wednesday night, March 14th, against the Prince George Cougars. It will be the final regular season match-up between the two teams. Game time inside of the Everett Events Center is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
