BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Central Hockey League today announced that Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs goaltender Ken Carroll has been named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week after leading his team to three wins in the last five days. Carroll now owns a record of 23-9-2 and has won three weekly CHL honors this year.

The Oil City, Ontario native allowed just four goals in his three starts this week and made a total of 102 saves on 106 shots. On Wednesday, Carroll made 40 saves, including 18 in the third period, as he led the Mudbugs to a 4-2 win over the Corpus Christi Rayz. He followed that impressive performance with a 33-save effort on Friday in a 4-1 win over the Fort Worth Brahmas and then defeated the Brahmas again on Sunday by making 29 stops in a 3-1 victory. Sunday's performance helped the Mudbugs set a new franchise record with their 15th consecutive home win.

Carroll is now tied for second in the CHL in goals against average at 2.17 and his 23 wins place him fourth in the league. He has won six consecutive outings and has posted a 15-2-2 mark on home ice this year. The all-star netminder is the winningest goaltender in Mudbugs history and is four wins away from tying his career high of 27 set in the 2000-01 campaign.
