
Ken Appleby Named Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week

The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Ken Appleby is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week with a 2-0-0-0 record posting a shutout victory along with a goals-against-average of 0.50 and save percentage of .980.
Appleby stopped 48 shots for the top ranked Generals backstopping the club to a pair of victories improving their record to 23-3-1-0 atop the OHL standings. On Thursday night he picked up his league-leading fourth shutout of the season with 25 saves in a 6-0 victory over the Peterborough Petes. Then on Sunday, Appleby and the Generals shutdown the OHL's top offensive team the Erie Otters in a battle of the Eastern and Western Conference's top teams where he made 23 saves as part of the 4-1 victory.
Appleby, a 19-year-old from North Bay, ON, is playing in his third OHL season with the Generals. He currently leads the league with a 20-2-0-0 record and has the OHL's second best goals-against-average and save percentage with marks of 1.99 and .928 respectively.
