South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays will be collecting school supplies for the First Day Festival at games this weekend. Please help the local children by donating school supplies that can be distributed at the First Day Festival!! If you can't make it to the games, the Stingrays will have a collection box in their office throughout the summer until the First Day Festival in August. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.

SECOND SEASON SUB-PLOTS

The Stingrays look to go up two games to none tonight when they take on the Cincinnati Cyclones tonight at the Coliseum.

THE REST ON THE QUEST

The Alaska Aces took a 2-0 series lead over the Las Vegas Wranglers with a 4-1 win last night in Alaska.

The Aces are 10-2 in the playoffs this season and at home are 6-0 while outscoring their opponents 21-3.

During the regular season, Cincinnati went 4-6 against teams in the Southern Division; South Carolina went 4-4 against the North.

BLAST FROM THE PAST

The Rays are currently battling for the E.A. "Bud" Gingher Memorial Trophy. The trophy is given to the team that wins the American Conference Championship. The Rays have never won the trophy since starting in 1997-98 the trophy was awarded to the playoff champion of the Northern Conference. With the restructuring of the league, beginning in 2003-04 the trophy was designated for the playoff champion of the Eastern Conference and in 2004-05 to the winner of the American Conference.
