New Jersey Jackals News Release
Little Falls, NJ John Kelly put on a clinic against the New Jersey Jackals, while shutting them out in a complete game effort. The final score was 5-0, in favor of North Shore. The Spirit victory set up the rubber match of the three game series on Thursday.
In the first and third innings, Vic Davilla would be the thorn in the side of the New Jersey Jackals. North Shore's slugger tallied two RBI singles, making the Spirit lead 2-0 through three innings.
During the bottom of the fifth, the Spirit doubled their lead with a two run inning against Jackals starter Marty Janzen. Davilla collected his third RBI single of the night, and Josh Tranum added an RBI on a sacrifice fly, making the score 4-0, in favor of North Shore.
Alex Trezza's sacrifice fly for an RBI made it 5-0, North Shore, and that's all the offense we would see in the ballgame.
John Kelly dazzled the New Jersey Jackals, mowing them down one by one. Kelly hurled a complete game shutout, allowing only five hits, and three walks. He finished his fantastic outing with 12 strikeouts, including three while striking out the side in the top of the ninth.
