OMAHA, NE - A concert by country music artist Keith Anderson and a Carlos Beltran statue giveaway highlight the Omaha Royals upcoming home stand. The five-game series vs. the Round Rock Express gets underway on Friday, July 18 and runs through Monday, July 21 at Rosenblatt Stadium. Here's a rundown of what's on tap:
Friday, July 18, 7:05 p.m.: Keith Anderson, who's had big country hits including "Pickin' Wildflowers" and his new song "I Still Miss You," performs live following the game and a fireworks show, presented by Werner Enterprises and KAT 103. Tickets are still available by calling (402) 738-5100 or by visiting www.oroyals.com. Stadium gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the 1st 1,000 fans will receive a FREE CD case, courtesy of the Nebraska Independent College Foundation. Great Clips will also be on hand giving haircuts to fans for donations to the rebuilding effort of the Little Sioux Boy Scout ranch devastated by a tornado last month. The night is also presented by KETV and The City Weekly.
Saturday, July 19, 7:05 p.m.: Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and the 1st 1,500 fans will receive a Carlos Beltran statue, courtesy of the Nebraska Air National Guard. Beltran was voted by fans as their favorite Omaha player of this decade in an online poll at www.oroyals.com prior to the season. Each statue is hand-numbered and has Beltran decked out in an Omaha Golden Spikes uniform, just as he wore during his stint with the team in the 2000 season. The night is also brought to you by 1620 The Zone, WOWT and The Reader! In conjunction with Catholic Charities and Spirit Catholic Radio's "Hunger Doesn't Take a Vacation" food drive, the Royals are offering two-tickets-for-the-price-of-one to tonight's game to anyone who brings a can of food to the ballpark.
Sunday, July 20, 1:35 p.m. DOUBLEHEADER: It's two-games-for-the-price-of-one on this U.S. Bank Family FUNday, with clowns, face painting and kids invited to run the bases, also presented by KGBI-100.7 FM and KPTM-Fox 42. All Royals Kids Club members receive a FREE ticket to the game, courtesy of SUBWAY! Plus, any fan bringing an Our Family Brand food item to the stadium gets a FREE General Admission ticket to the contest!
Monday, July 21, 12:05 p.m.: It's a Business Person Special/Summer Day Camp day game, brought to you by 1110 KFAB and Strictly Business, featuring ½-price Omaha Steaks burgers! Fans will also enjoy the hilarious antics of the nationally-known mascot Rally, performing throughout the contest.
