Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today DS Brandon Keeler has been assigned to the 2008 roster. The Shock also placed DL Kevin Harbour on waivers today.
Keeler, 6'2" 215, was released from the NFL's Arizona Cardinals on their final day of training camp heading into the 2007 season. Before joining the Cardinals, Keeler, a Federal Way High graduate, had a decorated career at Eastern Washington University. As an Eagle, Keeler collected 243 tackles - including 114 tackles as a sophomore - with three interceptions.
"We pride ourselves on recruiting some of the best players in the country and finding him in our own backyard is just a bonus," Head Coach Adam Shackleford explained. "Brandon will be a very effective player for us and we plan to use him in the secondary and at the Jack (linebacker) spot."
Keeler is now the fourth Eagle to join the 2008 Shock roster.
"I actually went to a few games last year to watch Raul and the guys," Keeler said. "I still had a bitter taste in my mouth from the Cardinals and I wasn't ready to give it up yet."
Shackleford and the Shock will open up training camp this weekend and will conclude training camp on March 20th with an exhibition game against the Amarillo Dusters in the Yakima SunDome. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through TicketsWest.
