Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Two more former Green Bay Blizzard players are tabbed to start tonight when the defending ArenaBowl XXI Champion San Jose SaberCats prepare for their title defense on the road vs. ArenaBowl XX Champion Chicago Rush tonight at 9 PM ET on ESPN2.
2005 Blizzard OL/DL Joe Peters and 2006 Blizzard OL/DL Robert Boss will be making their season debuts tonight at home vs. the SaberCats. Boss, who tallied 2 receptions for 19 yards and 2 touchdowns while playing in all 16 regular season games in 2007, will lead a team that returns only two of eight starters on offense this season. Boss was also voted the team's Co-Rookie of the Year by his teammates following his solid rookie season. Peters who was a member of the Rush during their 2006 championship season had a solid season in 2007 piling up 26.5 tackles, 1 sack and 2 passes broken up playing in all 16 regular season games.
For those former Blizzard players that made their season debuts over the weekend, former 2006 Blizzard players Brent Holmes and David Crocker both with the Georgia Force, were the benchmark for this group of Blizzard alumni. Holmes, whose quarterback is former Blizzard standout Chris Greisen, tallied 8 receptions for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns. Holmes' 156 yards lead all receivers to date in Week 1 action. While Holmes was busy on offense, his teammate David Crocker led the Georgia Force with 11 tackles and 1 interception while also garnering Defensive Player of the Game honors.
