Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz have been assigned a former NFL and Oklahoma State tight end, Alonzo Mayes, by the arenafootball2 league office.

Mayes (6'5, 280) was an All-American tight end at Oklahoma State University and provided a large target for OSU quarterbacks during his stint in Stillwater. Mayes, who was with the Pokes from 1994-1997, hauled in 92 passes in his career, seventh on the OSU all-time receptions chart. During his 1997 All-American season, the two-time All-Big 12 selection caught 29 passes for 424 yards and helped lead the Cowboys to their first bowl game since 1988.

Mayes was selected in the fourth round by the Chicago Bears in the 1998 NFL draft. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins where he played two seasons (2001-2002). With the Yard Dawgz, Mayes is expected to be a part of an athletic offensive/defensive line.

The Dawgz have also been assigned FB/LB Robert Harmon. Harmon (6'2, 270) played at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is a graduate of Guthrie High School where he played football, basketball, and soccer.
