Kansas City Mavericks News Release

INDEPENDENCE, MO. - Looking for their first 3-0-0 start since the 2013-14 season, the Kansas City Mavericks are back on the ice tonight versus the Wichita Thunder at Cable Dahmer Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:05 PM.

With two resounding victories over the weekend, the Mavericks are 2-0 for the first time since 2018-19. A victory over division-rival Wichita tonight would get Kansas City to 3-0 for the first time in 10 seasons.

The Mavericks have been led by their high-scoring offense, scoring 10 goals across the first two games. The 10 goals scored by Kansas City this season leads the Mountain Division.

Additionally, Mavericks General Manager and Head Coach Tad O'Had is looking to pick up victory No. 100 tonight at Cable Dahmer Arena. A win tonight would make O'Had the third Mavericks head coach with 100 victories and would make him the second-winningest coach during their time in the ECHL.

After tonight, the Mavericks are back at Cable Dahmer Arena next Tuesday, October 31 at 7:05 PM for the Halloween Night game against Rapid City. More than 20 local community and corporate partners will line the concourse for kids in costume to trick-or-treat before the game. Single-game and multi-game ticket plans are available for the 2023-24 Mavericks season, call 816-252-7825.
