Kalish hits homer to end marathon
June 5, 2010 - International League (IL1)
Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
Ryan Kalish picked a great spot for his first I.L. home run. It came with a man on in the thirteenth inning to lead the PawSox to a hard-fought 8-6 win. Kalish had a deep blast to right, scoring Lars Anderson with the winning runs. The PawSox had taken a 6-5 lead in the eighth as Anderson and Aaron Bates hit back to back homers.
In the ninth, Fernando Cabrera allowed a leadoff homer to Luis Terrero, his second of the game. It forced just the second extra inning affair of 2010 for Pawtucket.
Robert Manuel (3-0) earned the win. The right hander hurled three scoreless innings for the Sox. Michael Bowden started and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 5.2 innings. Boof Bonser appeared in relief for the first time this season, pitching one scoreless 1-2-3 inning. Presumably, Boof will join Boston on Monday.
The series continues on Sunday at 6:05 p.m.
