Waterloo, Iowa- The Kalamazoo Growlers fall to 1-2 on their current six game road trip as they were defeated by the Waterloo Bucks 9-4 Thursday evening. The Growlers fell in a early hole allowing the Bucks to strike in the 1st inning. A big four run fourth inning by Waterloo extended the Bucks lead to 7-1. The Growlers did their best to rally as they put up 3 runs in the eighth inning. It was to no avail though, as Matt Behounick (St. Thomas) came in and shut the door on the Growlers.

The Kalamazoo offense was alive and well as they out-hit the home team 11-8. Jesse Puscheck (Canisius College) had his 2nd straight multi-hit game going 2 for 3 with a hit-by-pitch. Brett Sunde (Western Michigan) hit his 2nd home-run of the season in his first at-bat, in addition to upping his RBI total to 11 on his Northwoods League campaign. Cody Sedlock (Illinois) picked up his third win of the season going six innings and striking out seven Growlers for Waterloo.

The Kalamazoo Grolwers will be back in action tomorrow night at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa for the 2nd game of this two game set. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 E.S.T.
