Kinston Indians News Release
Kinston held a 1-0 lead through the first four innings in Thursday's series finale with Myrtle Beach before storm clouds rolled in and suspended the game in the top of the fifth inning.
The game will not be made up as both these teams do not face each other the rest of the first half.
Kinston starter Russell Young was cruising through the first four frames, allowing no runs on just three hits, one walk and striking out one.
Kinston got its lone run on a third inning RBI single by Lonnie Chisenhall to drive home Nate Recknagel.
The K-Tribe had won the first two games of the series and was looking for its first three-game sweep this season.
Kinston heads home now for a three game weekend series with the Lynchburg Hillcats starting Friday night at 7 PM. The Indians will send lefty Ryan Morris (3-6, 5.20) to the hill for game one.
