Kinston Indians News Release
Please keep Evelyn "Momma" Kornegay in your prayers, Momma is resting peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends, but her battle with pancreatic cancer is drawing to a close. I will keep you updated. David Hall recently wrote a fantastic article about her in the Kinston Free Press http://www.kinston.com/articles/bodycopyrag-65257-class-everybody.html
Trifecta- Kinston's 5-0 shutout win last night gave them their first three-game winning streak of the season. The K-Tribe has also won a season best 4 out of 5 games.
Shutout Shop - Last night's shutout was the fourth of the season for Indians pitching, which leads the Carolina League. Today's starting pitcher Nick Hagadone has been the starter for three of the shutouts, while last night's starter T.J. McFarland has been the winning pitcher in the last three shutouts.
Rock Bottom - The K-Tribe pitching staff continues to lead the Carolina League with a 2.76 ERA. Even more impressive is that Kinston's team ERA ranks 5th in all of baseball. Class A Savannah and Double A Richmond lead all teams with a 2.65 ERA, and only the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres of MLB have better ERA's than the K-Tribe.
