WOODBRIDGE, VA (MAY 11, 2010) - Washington Nationals pitcher and longtime major leaguer Jason Marquis will make a rehab start tonight for the Potomac Nationals against the Winston-Salem Dash. He is the first major league rehabber the Dash has faced in the 2010 season.
Tonight's game is scheduled to begin at 7:03 p.m. at Pftizner Stadium and the broadcast can be heard on www.wsdash.com .
Marquis has been on the disabled list for most of the last month with bone chips in his right elbow. He was 0-3 with a 20.52 ERA (19 ER in 8.1 IP) in three starts with Washington before landing on the D.L.
Signed as a free agent by Washington this past off-season, Marquis is coming off an all-star season for the Colorado Rockies, during which he went 15-13 with a 4.04 ERA. He owns a career major league record of 94-83 and a 4.48 ERA with Atlanta, St. Louis, Chicago (NL), Colorado, and Washington.
The Dash returns to BB&T Ballpark on Monday, May 17 when it opens a seven-game home stand against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Lynchburg Hillcats.
