Kinston Indians News Release
Reck-2 D-2 - Kinston first baseman Nate Recknagel is on a tear and now leads the team and is tied for 9th in the league with a .325 batting average. He is on an 8-game on-base streak, the best of the season for Kinston, during which he is hitting .429 (12-for-28) with 3 doubles, 4 runs and 2 RBI. Recknagel had started the season with just one hit in his first 12 at-bats.
Revenge of the Pitch - K-Tribe pitchers continue to lead the league with a 2.59 ERA and are second in the league with a .233 opposing batting average. They are also second in the league with 131 strikeouts. Despite just a 2-6 record for the starters, their ERA dropped to 2.55 after Joey Mahalic's solid outing last night.
Jedi Masters - Richard Martinez (.455 during streak) and Karexon Sanchez (.278 during streak) are on five-game hitting streaks, while Abner Abreu is on a four-game streak. Sanchez is also fifth in the league with a .420 OBP.
