Alex White gets the start today at Myrtle Beach as Kinston looks to win their fifth straight!

KIN RHP Alex White (1-2, 2.81) - The native of nearby Greenville, NC, White pitched collegiately at UNC and was Cleveland's first round pick in '09 (15th overall). White is Cleveland's 9th-ranked prospect by BA. White threw 7 shutout innings on Sunday at SAL but took a no-decision. After giving up four earned runs in both his third and fourth starts of the season, White has given up just two earned runs total in his last two outings (0-0, 1.35 ERA in 13.1 innings). White is currently fifth in the Carolina League with a 2.81 ERA.

Late Inning Fun? - It has been a wild late inning ride for the K-Tribe over the last week and a half. Last nights extra inning affair was the third extra inning game in the last five contests for the Indians. They are 2-1 in the extra baseball bouts over the stretch and 3-1 in extras overall. Going back to last week, the K-Tribe suffered through three walk off losses in four games from Sunday through Wednesday.

Red Hot Tribe - Kinston is on a season high four game winning streak, having also won five of their last six games (the only loss was an extra inning defeat to Potomac on Friday night in Kinston).

Big Bats and Myrtle Beach - Although the K-Tribe has only hit one home run in this series against Myrtle Beach, over half of their homers this season have come against the Pelicans (10 of 19). The total includes nine home runs hit by Kinston against the Pelicans in a three game series at home three weekends ago. The series was highlighted by a six home run day on Sunday, April 25th.

Shutout Shop - Monday night's shutout was the fourth of the season for Indians pitching, which leads the Carolina League. Nick Hagadone has been the starter for three of the shutouts, while T.J. McFarland has been the winning pitcher in the last three shutouts.

Rock Bottom - The K-Tribe pitching staff continues to lead the Carolina League with a 2.77 ERA. Going into this week Kinston's team ERA ranked 5th in all of baseball. Class A Savannah and Double A Richmond lead all teams with a 2.65 ERA, and only the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres of MLB have better ERA's than the K-Tribe.
