The Dash got a four for five day including two home runs from local product catcher Jason Bour (Centreville, VA) while smashing 19 hits. The 19 hits are the most yielded by Potomac this season.

The pivotal half was the top of the seventh. After Potomac had scored two in the fifth and one in the sixth to take a 6-4 lead, the Dash got a leadoff double from Brandon Short. After Adrian Alaniz retired two hitters via the strikeout he was pulled for Cory VanAllen with Seth Loman coming to the plate and Short still at second. Loman hit a broken bat single to left that scored Short to bring Winston-Salem within one. Then Ozzie Lewis hit a single to left placing Loman on third and advanced to second on a throw.

Up came Luis Sierra who hit a slicing line drive that just got past a diving Boomer Whiting to the left-center wall scoring both Loman and Lewis putting the Dash up 7-6 with Sierra ending up on third with a triple. In game Dan Leatherman who gave up a 2-run home run to Bour down the left-field line on the second pitch he saw and the Dash took a 9-6 lead.

Winston-Salem added 3 in the eighth off Leatherman off a two-out bases clearing double from Ozzie Lewis. The P-Nats got 2 in the ninth but it wasn't enough as they dropped their fifth straight overall 12-8.

The Dash got the scoring started in the second against starter Robinson Fabian. Jason Bour knocked in Luis Sierra with no out. A pair of singles from Justin Greene and Brandon Short scored Bour and Greene to put the Dash up 3-0.

The P-Nats offense got going in the third off Dash starter Charles Leesman. Boomer Whiting, who reached base three times Wednesday night, bunted for a hit. Steve Lombardozzi walked and Derek Norris singled loading the bases with one out. Mike Burgess cleared the bases with a shot down the right field line to even it at three.

The Dash got the lead back on the first batter of the top half of the fourth on a monster home run into the forest beyond left field from Bour on a 2-1 pitch. Potomac came right back in the fifth off back to back walks from Whiting and Lombardozzi to start the inning. Derek Norris lined a single back through the box to score Whiting and tie it at four. The P-Nats took their first lead of the day off a fielders choice from Mike Burgess that scored Lombardozzi.

Potomac struck again in the sixth with Steve Lombardozzi doubling in Boomer Whiting on a shot down the right field line to take their first multi-run lead of the night. But the Dash struck back and took home the victory.

The top of the Potomac order was very effective. One through four Potomac went six for 13 with six runs scored, five RBI and four walks - three of which came from Lombardozzi.

The Dash hitters were effective up and down the linesup. All but two recorded multiple hit days including Brandon Short in front of hometown fans who went four for six. He improved his batting average to .404.

Cory VanAllen took the loss giving up three runs while retiring no batters. He falls to 1-2. Hector Santiago picks up the victory in relief for Winston-Salem.
