
Jurries' four hits spark Braves

Richmond, VA - The Richmond Braves beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons 4-3 at The Diamond Thursday night. Braves 1B James Jurries went four-for-four and knocked in the winning run as the Braves took the opener in a four game series.
Braves starting pitcher Seth Greisinger was outstanding for six-plus innings. He retired the first 13 Barons and carried a two hit shutout into the seventh inning. Andy Marte staked Greisigner to a 3-0 lead with a three-run homer in the sixth. But the Barons rallied back with three runs in the seventh. Ryan Howard knocked in two with a triple. Jurries doubled Kelly Johnson home in the eight to put the Braves in front to stay.
Kelly Johnson had three hits for the Braves and Esix Snead added two. Hector Almonte picked up the win. Chris Mears retired the Barons in order in the ninth to earn a save. Yoel Hernandez took the loss
