FORT MILL, S.C. -- Second baseman Trace Coquillette and left fielder Roosevelt Brown collected three hits apiece, while catcher Jamie Burke tagged a two-run homer as Charlotte posted an 11-3 victory over Indianapolis Thursday evening at Knights Stadium.

The Knights improve to 15-33 with the win. The Indians, who fall to 29-18, are now tied for the best winning percentage (.617) of any team in Triple-A Baseball.

Charlotte cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the second when CF Brian Anderson led off with a single and eventually scored on Burke's RBI double to left.

Indianapolis evened the count in the top of the third when RF Jon Nunnally smacked a triple to center field and scored on SS Jorge Velandia's RBI groundout.

The Knights scored again in the bottom of the third when SS Pedro Lopez walked and stole second before coming plateward on Brown's RBI single down the left-field line.

Indianapolis took its first lead of the night with a two spot in the top of the fourth. Nunnally roped an RBI single to score DH Graham Koonce and 2B Cesar Crespo smashed an RBI single to plate 3B Jose Leon as the Indians pulled ahead, 3-2.

From there, it was all Charlotte as the Knights exploded for nine unanswered runs to halt the Tribe's winning streak at four games. Burke belted his fourth roundtripper of the season -- a two-run shot to left field -- to highlight the home half of the sixth, while 11 men came to the plate in a rough eighth frame for the Tribe bullpen.

Coquillette finished the evening 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and one double, while Brown called it a night after going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run and one RBI. Nunnally went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run and one RBI.

Five-time Major League All-Star Frank Thomas, who has been on a rehabilitation assignment with Charlotte since May 17, had another 0-for-4 night after an apparent grand slam was reversed in the bottom of the seventh.

Knights RHP Felix Diaz (6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO) improved to 2-1 with the win, while Indians RHP Jeff Miller (1.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 SO) fell to 0-2 with the loss. Indianapolis RHP Bryan Bullington (5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO) took a no-decision.

Indianapolis and Charlotte return to Knights Stadium on Friday night at 6:15 p.m., for game three of the four-game set. The contest will be carried by ESPN-950 AM as Howard Kellman and Robert Portnoy have the call. Friday's pre-game show begins at 5:55 p.m.
