Portland Sea Dogs News Release


SHUTOUT FOR THE FIRST TIME - Last night's 3-0 loss to the Senators was the first time the Sea Dogs were shutout in 2021. Unable to cross the plate, Portland recorded three hits and only reached second-base twice.

FELTMAN DOES NOT FALTER -Durbin Feltman has pitched in three games this series facing the Harrisburg Senators. He has not allowed a run or a hit in his 2.1 innings and has only walked one batter.

WINCKOWSKI HURLS - After his last start, Josh Winckowski now has thrown the second-most amount of innings in the Double-A Northeast. So far this season he has tossed 32.0 innings allowing 12 runs (eight earned) on 12 hits while walking nine and striking out 28. He has held opponents to a .190 batting average.

STRONG RELIEF - Sea Dogs relievers have been solid in the first month of the season. They have a combined record of 11-1 with a 3.92 ERA. Collectively, they have pitched 121.2 innings and have struck out 149 opposing hitters. Opponents are hitting .243 against them.

ON THE MOUND - Lefty Matthew Kent makes his first start of the 2021 season this afternoon. Kent has solely come out of the bullpen this season and has a 3-0 record with 1.38 ERA. In 2019, he received MiLB's Rawlings Gold Glove Award as a pitcher (38 TC, 0 E). He ranked among Double-A Portland leaders in starts (2nd, 18), innings (2nd, 122.1), and strikeouts (3rd, 85)
