Jumbo Shrimp Will Host July 3 Independence Day Picnic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Families on the First Coast can celebrate Independence Day Eve with a picnic at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville Tuesday, July 3, when the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp host an all-you-can-eat picnic as part of their Independence Day Celebration presented by the Nimnicht Family of Dealerships.

Individuals and families may now log onto tinyurl.com/jaxshrimpportal (password "America") to purchase July 3 Independence Day Picnic packages that include reserved seats and the all-you-can-eat buffet in the first-base side VyStar Shrimp Net from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3. A limited number of tickets are available for the picnic.

Normally only served to groups of 24 or more people, the picnic menu of all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, beans, cookies, tea, lemonade and water, is available for individuals and families to purchase. Reservation space is limited. Packages are $20 per person and include access to the all-you-can-eat buffet and a reserved seat for the Jumbo Shrimp's 7:05 p.m. game. Children ages 3 and under who do not require a seat do not need a ticket.

As part of the Independence Day Celebration presented by Nimnicht Family of Dealerships, the first 2,000 fans receive a free Jumbo Shrimp Patriotic Cap, there will be a Stahl-Meyer Hot Dog Eating Contest, and Fireworks follow the game. Gates open at 6:00 p.m.

UP NEXT: The Jumbo Shrimp continue their second-half-opening six-game series in Mississippi at 8 p.m. Monday. The Jumbo Shrimp return home Thursday, June 28, to begin a six-game series with the Montgomery Biscuits on Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, with $1 12-oz. and $2 24-oz. beers at select locations, plus $1 sodas at the main concession stands. The game is Teacher Appreciation Night, when teachers can save $1 off a game day ticket purchase at the box office.
