Jumbo Shrimp Suffer Shutout Loss to Pensacola

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp were shut out 1-0 on Tuesday by the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Jumbo Shrimp partnered with Dreams Come True and Community First Credit Union on a Literal 2 For Tuesday, as the club hosted a Jacksonville Dreamer and his parent to be the only two fans in the ballpark, setting a Southern League attendance record of two.

Ryan Costello finally broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning with a home run off Jacksonville (50-58, 21-17) starter Kolton Mahoney (4-1).

That was the extent of the offense for Pensacola (57-51, 19-19). Blue Wahoos starter Edwar Colina (2-0) tossed 5.2 scoreless frames before giving way to Gabriel Moya, who worked 2.1 blank innings. Alex Phillips pitched the ninth for his third save.

Mahoney surrendered just one run on three hits in six innings. He struck out four against three walks.

The Jumbo Shrimp wrap up their series with Pensacola in Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. contest from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
