Portland Sea Dogs News Release

ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END - The historic 15 game winning streak came to an end last night in a dramatic, 1-0 loss to the Harrisburg Senators. It was a complete pitcher's duel until the ninth inning. The Senators loaded the bases in the top of the ninth inning then a single down the third-base line by Cole Freeman drove home Jackson Cluff. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Pedro Castellanos drew a lead-off walk and was the possible tying run. The next batter, Devlin Granberg, then lined a double-play ball to the first baseman Aldrem Corredor and the Sea Dogs went down in order in the bottom of the inning. The 15 game winning streak is the longest in Double-A since at least 2005 and is the third longest in all levels of Minor League Baseball since 2005.

WELL DESERVED - The Portland Sea Dogs made five roster moves today which includes three promotions to AAA Worcester. Grant Williams, Durbin Feltman and Kutter Crawford are all moving up a level to join the Worcester Red Sox. Williams was Portland's everyday infielder who did not strikeout in the month of May. He was batting .291 with 10 doubles, one triple and 10 RBI. Williams only committed four errors during his time with the Sea Dogs. Durbin Feltman has been enjoying a lot of success out of the bullpen. He was 6-0 with a 3.29 ERA. Feltman appeared in 22 games and pitched 27.1 innings allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 23 hits while walking 10 and striking out 37. Kutter Crawford had been stellar for the Sea Dogs in the starting rotation. In the month of July, Crawford went 2-0 in four starts with a 2.42 ERA. He pitched 22.1 innings allowing six runs on 16 hits while walking one and striking out 34.

NEW ADDITION - In a corresponding move, the Sea Dogs have added infielder, Nick Sogard to the roster from High-A Greenville Drive. He appeared in 46 games with the Drive and hit .265 with 10 doubles, one triple and eight homers with 24 RBI. Sogard was acquired From the Tampa Bay Rays with C Ronaldo Hernández in exchange for RHP Chris Mazza, LHP Jeffrey Springs, and cash considerations, 2/17/2021. His cousin, Eric, has had a 10-season MLB career with OAK (2010-15), MIL (2017-18, '20), TOR (2019), and TB (2019).

WELCOME BACK - Lefty pitcher Matthew Kent has returned to Portland from Worcester. He made two appearances for the Woo Sox and went 1-0 with a 5.19 ERA. He tossed 8.2 innings allowing five runs on eight hits while walking four and striking out seven. Kent held opposing batters to a .219 batting average.

ON THE MOUND - RHP Brayan Bello makes the start tonight for the Sea Dogs. He last pitched 7/10 at Reading and allowed a season-high four runs on five hits while walking one and striking out nine. Bello gave up one home run. He has not faced the Senators.
