Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release
CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, August 1, 2006) - Chivas USA attacking midfielder Juan Pablo GarcÃa was named to the 2006 MLS All-Star team, who will play next Saturday, August 5, against Chelsea FC from the English Premier League, in TOYOTA PARK in Bridgeview, outside of Chicago.
GarcÃa, like Chivas USA forward Ante Razov, is on the list of Inactive Players for the game, because of Chivas USA's game on August 6 against the New England Revolution, whose players will also not participate in the All-Star game. The Chivas USA game will take place in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and is part of a doubleheader that also includes the FC Barcelona vs. Chivas Guadalajara match.
GarcÃa, who debuted for Chivas on August 21, 2005, has become a fixture in Bob Bradley's lineups, having started all 20 regular-season games so far in 2006 for Chivas USA. He has logged 1716 minutes and in that time has scored five goals and added another five assists.
