Rome, GA - Former Georgia Bulldog and Cartersville native, Josh Morris has been activated and joins the Rome Braves today.
Morris is a Cartersville High School graduate where he played baseball with Will Startup, a former UGA player and Rome Braves player, who now is at AAA Richmond.
Morris has just concluded his impressive career at the University of Georgia. As a freshman, the right-handed hitter batted .319 with 16 homeruns and 71 RBI. His sophomore year, he batted .273 with 12 homers and 45 RBI. He dominated the UGA record books as a junior with a .309 batting average, 23 homeruns and 68 RBI. Morris finished his collegiate run as the Bulldog's all-time homerun leader with 51.
Morris was selected by the Braves in the 12th round of the 2006 Amateur Draft.
